Hershef is a god of water and fertility originally worshipped in Hnes (Heraklesopolis Magna). He is often associated with Horus and Amun. He is often seen to be the personification of the souls of Osiris and Ra. The Greeks equated Hershef with Herakles. In art, Hershef appears as a ram-headed man, or a ram with long horns. He may be wearing either the Atef crown or the solar disc. |
